fall portraits :: {engagement} jenny & stevie

Had a great day down in Prosperity, SC and then also in Batesburg-Leesville, SC. The weather was perfect, just a cool breeze and not too bright. We enjoyed taking some photos down by the church where they may be getting married, and over at the bride's families' house. Fun barns + a great couple = an awesome shoot.

so, finally here are all the photos i snapped during our adventure with robert. such stunning eyes and cute little personality. i loved how he just stared into the camera trying to figure it out. looking forward to following up with a family shoot with these guys! enjoy!

here's just a little sneak peak for this cute little family.

we had a great time sunday afternoon exploring the backyard of this cute family's house. playing with sticks, leaves, and even the garden hose. i can't wait to turn this family's portrait session into some cute brag books.

weekend update :: hilton head island, sc

wow. does hilton head have tons to offer? seems like to me its going to be my new vacationing spot.

friday night [very late] my family went to hilton head for a quick stay while the guys went shrimping. man. how awesome are fresh shrimp. not too much beats them. we found a gorgeous little condo beach front. the weather was perfect, the shopping was ideal, and family time was exactly what i needed. we laughed, cried [because we were laughing] and hardly slept. we watched the guys bring in their catches that made us proud, had plenty of driving (mis)adventures, and jammed to oldies while driving with the windows down. couldn't have asked for a better weekend. sunday before heading back home, we decided to explore Harbor town, and oh my what fun that was. we enjoyed walking around at the harbor, looking through gift shops, dreaming about being on one of the huge yachts, and ate great seafood at one of the waterfront restaurants. so. much. fun. we finished up our trip with some ice cream from salty dog cafe. enjoy the photos :)

oh yea. i can't forget the lighthouse in hilton head, and the dolphin sightings on the beach. priceless.

:: peace

what does peace mean to you? is it a song? a happy feeling? a butterfly? a person? a moment? a place?

peace to me is serenity. i love the simplicity of a butterfly. especially yellow ones. me and a few special members of my family know what i'm talking about. it just seems like when you need peace the most, its right there, in a form you didn't realize you needed/could see it in. know what i'm talking about?

i took a little "peaceful" adventure through the butterfly gardens in key west florida. wow, is that peaceful to the extreme. yes, its a sweltering temperature in there, but sometimes you have to endure "the heat" to get the peace, ever had this experience? i know when you do get to that point, that's what you appreciate. so, for you, enjoy these peaceful images i took at the butterfly gardens. and next, take a trip here.

a cup of tea.

today might as well be called a random thursday post. one, being because i know you guys look forward to what i have to say and there's not a whole lot for me to blog about... unless you care how much i've run around and worked this week :)

so... a cup of tea. what does that mean to you? to me... its relief from a headache. a long chat with a good friend. its a chai latte. a great closing to an autumn day. a stress reliever. today its more than one of those for me... and its black current tea that i have on tap :)

so, a few thoughts from my mind... i'll leave you with a few things i'm crushing on right now:

my two favorite things.

these are two of my favorite things, all wrapped up into one.
coffee + a good pattern

this is one of my favorite coffee mugs. simply because my hubby's is the opposite saying "her better half." i think its one of the best wedding presents we've gotten. i tried to look for this set for friends but haven't quite found anything like it.

so why?
i'm always attracted to pattern. especially those who resemble nature, just like this coffee cup. and coffee? need i say more?

my current favorite brew (other than pumpkin lattes currently) is hazelnut. you can't go wrong with it.

of course, lots of cream and sugar [splenda :)]
how do you take your coffee and what's your favorite mug?

orange crush.

so its fall and its most our favorite times of the year. ive been thinking about orange and how it plays into our design for this time of the year. its one of my favorite colors for so many reasons:
-clemson football. yes i'm one of those who sport the orange and purple!
-fall harvest - pumpkins and lots of fall leaves... i'm now on search because they aren't changing around here yet.
-trends in fashion & nails
-bold color designs
