{blink}

I was driving in my car the other day... thinking about the bazillion things I had on my mind, my to-do list, what i've got done, what i need to get done, business ideas, gift ideas, etc... you get the point. I'm sitting here thinking, how in the world do I have time to get
all this done? I took a big deep breath and turned up my radio. This song was on. It hit me. It was exactly at the point in the song where he says

"Slow down...Slow down,
Before today becomes our yesterday
Slow down, slow down
Before you turn around and it's too late"

And it hit me. I needed to hear that. I'm so caught up in the hustle and bustle of the holidays, owning a business, and trying to make everything/everyone happy and everything run smoothly, producing my best work and getting everything I possible can done, I need to slow down... before I realize it was yesterday and I didn't take the time to invest in personal relationships. So, below is the album cover from here... and the entire song lyrics. Just take just a moment and listen.

Teach me to number my days
And count every moment before it slips away
Taking all the colors before they fade to gray
I don't want to miss even just a second more of this

It happens in a blink
It happens in a flash
It happens in the time it takes to look back
I try to hold on tight, but there's no stopping time
What is it I've done with my life
It happens in a blink (x2)

When it's all said and done
No one remembers how far we have run
The only thing that matters is how we have loved
I don't want to miss even just a second more of this

It happens in a blink
It happens in a flash
It happens in the time it takes to look back
I try to hold on tight, but there's no stopping time
What is it I've done with my life
It happens in a blink (x4)

Slow down, slow down
Before today becomes our yesterday
Slow down, slow down
Before you turn around and it's too late

It happens in a blink
it happens in a flash
it happens in the time it takes to look back
I try to hold on tight but there's no stopping time
What is it I've done with my life
It happens in a blink

It happens in a blink
it happens in a flash
it happens in the time it takes to look back
I try to hold on tight but there's no stopping time
What is it I've done with my life
It happens in a blink (x4)

And of course the graphic designer in me inspired me to look at the simple things in life, that don't worry, don't fret, they just exist. I've come to realize nobody has a deadline for me, its just me beating myself up because I'm not meeting my own unrealistic deadlines. I always think I can cram so much into a days work, that just physically is not possible. So here's to a new year of organization, time management, and making my business and my clients have the best of me.

So for now, I'm off to finish making gift tags for my family's gifts, and placing those special ribbons on them, because family is where its important. They are my support system and my rock! Merry Christmas to all! I'll be back tomorrow to post a special Christmas card I got in the mail... designed by yours truly! :)

{catch up}

{catch up} is what i feel like i'm doing. always. buried in projects, ideas, and crafts. i love it though. wouldn't have it any other way.

i've been working hard on my new stationery line. it has started selling at The Blend coffee shop in Prosperity, SC. I got several collections there for sale, including :Signature Bird, Floral, Modern Pattern, Fun and Feminine, and lots of fun one of a kind handmade card sets, gift tags, and gift tag sets. At the beginning of the year, I'll be adding some local photography stationery featuring my own photography. Below is a small amount of what my work looks like in the shop.
Also, custom orders have been keeping me pretty busy. I love the special touch of wrapping my custom card creations. It just adds the finishing touch. I find myself taking hours of my time {and never charge for it} just so i can be pleased by the wrapping.

So, my friends I'm sorry to leave you hanging for such a long time. With the promising new year arising, I hope to increase my blogging much more!

I have several photography events to blog about, new stationery to show you, and lots of fun interactive things ... I'd love to get to know my readers! Please feel free to leave me a comment on what you love most about reading my blog... for now, enjoy this cute wrapping of a custom order for Christmas :)

Its not too late to contact me for custom orders... just a couple days left to make it in time for Christmas! :) Send them in guys!

{crafting projects} the frame

I've always loved those cute frames in stores with the big bow on top, themed however you like them. I just can't ever afford them. So, a great friend of mine is getting married soon, so I decided to combine my crafty skillz with my design expertise! This is what I came up with. What do you think?

fall portraits :: {engagement} jenny & stevie

Had a great day down in Prosperity, SC and then also in Batesburg-Leesville, SC. The weather was perfect, just a cool breeze and not too bright. We enjoyed taking some photos down by the church where they may be getting married, and over at the bride's families' house. Fun barns + a great couple = an awesome shoot.

Here's a sneak peek just to hold the bride over :)

my two favorite things.

these are two of my favorite things, all wrapped up into one.
coffee + a good pattern

this is one of my favorite coffee mugs. simply because my hubby's is the opposite saying "her better half." i think its one of the best wedding presents we've gotten. i tried to look for this set for friends but haven't quite found anything like it.

so why?
i'm always attracted to pattern. especially those who resemble nature, just like this coffee cup. and coffee? need i say more?

my current favorite brew (other than pumpkin lattes currently) is hazelnut. you can't go wrong with it.

of course, lots of cream and sugar [splenda :)]
how do you take your coffee and what's your favorite mug?

Crabbin' in Edisto

As a continuation of yesterday's post, I'd like to show you a few shots of the crabs that were caught on our recent trip to Edisto. The crabs had such vibrant colors, and they were feisty little things! Enjoy! Please feel free to comment and pass my blog along!

Notice there is one picture of the marsh we started off in... and also one of sweet Eli, our cousin fishing! More to come!
